    Interseeding Red Clover in Winter Wheat Cover

    DATE: Wednesday September 20 (Rain date September 21*)
    TIME: 1-4 p.m.
    LOCATION: Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, W2493 County ES, East Troy, WI 53120

    An in-depth look at the practice of interseeding a red clover cover crop in winter wheat examining specific production practices and management, nitrogen credits and crediting for corn, impact on conservation compliance using SNAPlus and economics. It will feature a combination of classroom and field presentations including the 2017 cover crop and corn following last year’s cover crop at a local farm, drawing on 20-years’ experience and research data on the practice. Three (3) CEUs in crop management are available and materials include a binder containing the most up to date cover crop references.

    These professional development opportunities are a joint effort of the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, UW-Extension and the North Central SARE Professional Development Program. They are designed for professionals who advise farmers and will provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion of cover crop management.

    “SACRED AUTUMN: A PASSION FOR PAPER” Opening Exhibit

    Please join us for the opening reception “SACRED AUTUMN: A Passion for Paper” by Wisconsin Artist Pam Ring.   Enjoy the refreshments served and music “Autumn” by Vivaldi at the reception on Saturday, September 23rd from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and admission is FREE.  All sales of artwork go directly to the artist.

    The beautiful work of an optimistic artist who turned an art form begun in post-war outrage to one that brings peace-full delight to viewers.  Ring’s fabulous collage works will be on display for the Autumn season at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, the “Big Brown Barn” located at W2493 County Road ES, East Troy WI 53120.  The Good Earth Church of the Divine hosts the quarterly seasoned art exhibits as part of the Good Earth’s mission to recognize the healing effects of the arts upon the human spirit, even as art draws attention to Earth care as a moral obligation and sacred calling.

    The public will be able to view the art exhibit during the week, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and by appointment during the weekends.  For more information or to schedule a weekend viewing, call 262-684-5193.
