Delicious, Unique Foods Coming from MFAI’s Commercial Kitchen

Savory, local food products and services are being produced here in the Institute’s commercial kitchen, by several different businesses, chefs and food trucks. We are delighted to share with you some of the yummy goods being made right here, and where you can find them!

Kathy and Ken Taft have been producing their Sasha’s Dressings at Michael Fields for the last 10 years.

Their seven distinctly different dressings are all hand made, gluten, soy and dairy free and very low in sodium. They can be used for salads, pasta salad, cole slaw, wraps, and paninis as well as marinating chicken, pork, beef and seafood. You can find Sasha’s Dressings at Piggly Wiggly, Sendik’s Market, Health Hut, Gooseberries Fresh Food Market, Good Harvest and many other shops and farmers markets. Check out their website sashasdressings.com for a complete list of locations and some tasty recipes.

Mike Anagnos and Nate…. creators and owners of Seven Seeds Kitchen,  produce Skordalia, a nuts and seeds spread.

All their products are Gluten Free and Vegan. The base is almonds: ingredients are almonds, olive oil, lemons, garlic, and roasted sweet potato to bind (very little). This is an ancient recipe from the Mediterranean. Michael’s Yia Yia (Grandmother), from the Island of Crete, made this for him when he was a child.

Robyn Smith owner of Gypsy Soul Food Truck preps in the commercial kitchen as well.

April Yuds of Lotfotl Farm produces Well Beeing  Honey

Her philosophy is “to live in nature so that all creatures can live in wholeness and at their full potential. The marriage of plant and honey brings our awareness to the gifts that both have to offer and reminds us that we are all connected. Herbal Honeys infuse the magic of plant and honey together into an elixir for life that can support health and bring joy.” Products are sold at South Shore Farmers Market in Milwaukee and other local markets, including East Troy, as well as on LotFotL’s online farm store.
