Farmers, home and business owners interested in solar energy are encouraged to attend the Power Hour event on July 2nd at 6.30pm at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in East Troy, WI.
This free event is being organized by Midwest Renewable Energy Association and (MREA) Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU), sponsored by Badgerland Financial and hosted by Michael Fields Agricultural Institute.
The hour-long presentation will cover economic benefits of solar energy, basics of solar photovoltaic system, market trends and step-by-step process to determine if solar energy is right for your farm, home or business.
“Now is a the great time for farmers and rural businesses, as well as, home owners to consider solar installations. We invite people to attend the Power Hour and join our commitment to a distributed system of electric generation that puts people and communities in a good position,” said WFU Special Projects Coordinator Sarah Lloyd.
This workshop is part of the Farmers Union’s efforts to support renewable energy possibilities. In addition to these educational opportunities for individual installations, WFU also supports community efforts to promote and enact clean energy, as well as state and national level policies that support and incentivize renewable energy.
Michael Fields Agricultural Institute located at W2493 County Road ES in East Troy has been using solar energy for over 15 years. “We are encouraged by the interests many farmers and homeowners have in our solar system and we hope the Power Hour event is just the beginning of many other education and training events we will host in the future” said Smaranda Andrews, MFAI Education Director.
