Leadership and Service Award to MFAI’s Devon Hamilton
April 12, 2017
The Harvey Meyerhoff Undergraduate Excellence Awards for Leadership, Service and Scholarship has announced that MFAI’s own Assistant Policy Director, Devon Hamilton, will be one of its 2017 awardees. Named after a 1948 graduate of UW-Madison, these awards recognize students who have made outstanding leadership and service contributions to the University and/or the surrounding communities while maintaining a record of academic excellence.
In addition to his work at UW-Madison, Devon has worked with UW-Extension in a community gardening program. Around racial justice, he worked for the Multicultural Student Coalition and the Black Liberation Action Coalition to bring racial issues into constructive community discussion. And of course, he fosters widespread community understanding through regular grilling open dinners at his home in Madison. Devon is coming into the home stretch on his degree in Landscape Architecture. Congratulations, Devon!
