New Farmers’ Market Grants Available

Compeer Financial is offering two new farmer’s market grants. The timeline is short; applications are due by April 30 and funds will be awarded in June.

Farmers’ Market Organization grant – Grants are for organizations that desire to enhance services to consumers and vendors, benefiting all those who utilize the market. Grants should be geared toward marketing efforts, technology advancements, vendor educational opportunities, or conducting research studies. Grants are for up to $1,000. ANY FARMERS’ MARKET LOCATED WITHIN COMPEER’S 144-COUNTY TERRITORY IN ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN, AND MINNESOTA IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS GRANT.

Farmers’ Market Vendor grant – Grants for farmer market vendors are designed to help farmers with marketing or technology advancements. This can include developing branding, website creation, or mobile payment technology products or fees. Grants are for up to $500. VENDOR MUST BE A COMPEER MEMBER/BORROWERS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS GRANT.

“The program is really aimed at helping farmers be more successful and the markets be more successful.”  said Paul Dietmann at Compeer. He also says “It’s a very easy application process.”
