Upper Midwest CRAFT 2019 Field Days

The 2019 Upper Midwest Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) field day season will begin in June with field days on Biodynamics and livestock. Upper Midwest CRAFT, coordinated by Angelic Organics Learning Center (AOLC), is a farmer-led training alliance organized by sustainable agriculture farmers in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and the Chicagoland area. Seasoned farmers offer their time, talents, and expertise to help prepare the next generation of farmers. Farmers of all levels of experience have joined Upper Midwest CRAFT, as well as food advocates, chefs, and organizations.

Each year Upper Midwest CRAFT organizes a variety of field days with topics focusing on the core themes of soils, plants, animals, and people. Field days provide aspiring and current farmers exposure to the diversity of farms in the region through a workshop series that balances visits to: 1) larger and smaller farms 2) organic, biodynamic and sustainable farms 3) new and continuing Upper Midwest CRAFT member farms, and 4) other farms throughout our geographic region. Each field day is divided between time on the training topic, the host farm tour, and social time.

Field days are open to the public, however members receive admittance free of charge while non-members must register for $20 per field day.
