Agroforestry Field Days

The Savanna Institute has announced its field day lineup for 2019. Featuring tours of agroforestry production systems throughout Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin, this year’s lineup highlights Midwestern farms that are leading the way in agroforestry practices such as silvopasture, forest farming, and fruit and nut crop production. Visit the Savanna Institute’s “Events” webpage to learn more and register for these field days. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn from Midwestern agroforestry experts!

“You’re committed for a long haul,” said Kathy Dice, who hosted a field day at Red Fern Farm with her husband Tom Wahl on July 20th. “So you have to be really enjoying the work that you do. Love being outside. Love time on a mower! Realize that what you’re doing is going to be good for yourself, and your family, and the environment in the long run.”
