Small Grains Cost Share Sign-up For 2022 Open Now!

Attention small grains (wheat, rye, oats, barley, etc.) growers! You can get cost share dollars for doing what you’re already doing—growing your small grains crops!

Practical Farmers of Iowa is offering cost share for extended rotations in 2022. To qualify you must harvest a small grain in 2022 (for grain or forage) and plant a summer cover crop that contains at least one legume species (double cropping soybeans is not eligible). Eligible enrolled growers can receive $15/acre, up to 200 acres per farmer.

You must farm in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, or Wisconsin to be eligible for enrollment. Certified organic acres are NOT eligible for this program (transition is OK).
