    No one is excited about financial planning but it could be one of the most important aspects of a sustainable farm. This session covers financial information including how to read and understand financial reports and what the difference is between Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow. We’ll also cover realistic budgets, startup costs and funding options available.

    A Farm to Table Experience

    Michael Fields Agricultural Institute has partnered with M.A.T.C. Dietetic Program to provide a delicious experience on a working organic farm.

    What to Expect:
    A tour of the working farm
    A harvesting and hands on field work experience
    A prepared lunch with recipes
    A drawing for a basket of organic veggies to take home

    Tickets: $30 each
    *# of participants is limited
    *Large groups please call 262-642-3303
    *Children over 10 are welcome when accompanied by an adult

    What to Bring:
    This is a real experience, be prepared for any weather; farm life is rain or shine. May we suggest a hat, sunscreen, repellent, rain coat, boots and a good appetite

    Instructors Margaret Krome, Michael Fields’ Policy Director & Rachel Armstrong from Farm Commons
    This session will be structured a bit differently. We will give participates links to several on-line webinars covering a range of legal issues and so that basic questions are answered prior to the actual workshop. During the workshop we’ll have time to ask personal and customized follow up questions. Then Margaret Krome will discuss some new programs to help multi-crop farmers manage risks through crop insurance programs.
