Originally from New England, Dr. Claire Mikolayunas received a B.S. from Cornell University. She spent 4 years working on sheep and dairy cattle farms in Maine and Northern Ireland. During this time, she managed a small flock of dairy ewes, which encouraged her to purse M.S. and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a focus on dairy sheep nutrition. Her work evaluated the effect of supplementation and protein utilization of grazing dairy ewes. Claire started a position as the Small Ruminant Extension Specialist at the University of Wisconsin in August 2010.
