Devon Hamilton

Associate Director, Public Policy

Devon Hamilton joined Michael Fields September of 2016 as MFAI’s Assistant Policy Director. Originally from Leimert Park Los Angeles, he recently graduated from UW Madison with a B.S. in Landscape Studies through the Posse Foundation scholarship. He’s a student/community organizer, community cook, and youth educator on social justice and food system related issues. His student work ranges from grassroots organizing with the Multicultural Student Coalition (MCSC) and the Black Liberation Action Coalition (BLAC) to serving two terms on ASM Student Council; organizations focusing on issues around sexual assault, masculinity, and coalition building around environmental, food, and social justice. Professionally, he has received his California Master Gardener certification and has worked for Dane County UW Extension and taught for the PEOPLE Program. He sits on the boards for the REAP Food Group and the Mellowhood Foundation in Madison and his work has been recognized by campus and community institutions, receiving acknowledgments such as the the Campus Legacy and Backyard Hero awards
