In Memory of Christopher Mann

November 13, 1930 – February 7, 2018

“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people.  But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind.  It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane.  And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.” David Orr, Ecological Literacy: Educating our Children for a Sustainable World.     Christopher’s lifetime body of work embodies this perspective.

“When you look back after something that was complex and complicated that you achieved, you suddenly realize that you had a karmic connection with all these people all along.  And you then realize that you belong to a network of people that have come to earth with a certain mission, to introduce something new that may be not generally part of culture but that culture desperately needs. So you have a kind of forming of relationships that can be a strong core to protect a certain community.” Christopher Mann, as quoted in The Alchemists
