Jim Stute

Crop & Soil Research Director

Dr. Jim Stute joined Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in 2014 as the Research Program Director.  Dr. Stute has many years of experience specializing in crops and soils research.  He earned his Master and Doctorate degrees in Agronomy from UW-Madison and minors in soil science and botany. He formerly was with UW Extension and was once the former Outreach Coordinator at MFAI from 1997 to 2002 as well.  During that time frame, he focused on organizing the research trials the organization had at the Walworth County Farm.  Dr. Stute oversees the innovative research that crosses the boundaries between conventional and organic agricultural practices, along with biodynamic agricultural production methods.
