Looking for organic locations!
December 9, 2016
I had the pleasure of joining a great group of people the other day, the US Testing Network (USTN) for our annual meeting. USTN is a member-based organization of corn public breeders, private/independent breeders, seed retailers, and researchers. We focus on non-transgenic corn varieties for both conventional and organic growers. USTN’s purpose is to coordinate a rigorous testing program to evaluate public and private corn germplasm. The primary focus of USTN is to evaluate germplasm under development for the organic and non-transgenic grain industry. USTN’s members provide corn to be tested, locations for testing and/or financial support.
Our 2017 goals include, more organic testing locations. If you know of any organic locations that have the capability of planting and harvesting small plots, please contact Allison Pratt-Szeliga, Program Manager, 262-642-3303 x 107 email@example.com and I can connect you. Or go right to the source and contact Chris Wilbeck, USTN Testing Coordinator, 515-229-6988 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
