Margaret Krome: Agricultural proposals can bring bipartisanship to state budget

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers released his budget last week (it will be last week if the Fields Report goes out next week), including considerable important agricultural investments such as local and direct markets and institutional food, local meat processing, conservation, and watershed groups. MFAI’s Policy Director, Margaret Krome, wrote a recent column in The Capital Times of Madison, praising many of these investments and noting areas in which further investment is needed, including a cover crops program that has been very popular in Iowa and Illinois.
