MFAI 30th Anniversary Featured Speaker
Fred Kirschenmann

 Presenter Fred Kirschenmann, longtime national and international leader in sustainable agriculture and former Michael Fields Agricultural Institute board member will speak about the last 30 years in agriculture and the next 30. He is a Distinguished Fellow for the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University, President of Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, NY, Philosophy PhD and ISU Professor, Organic Farmer in North Dakota, Chair of Whiterock Conservancy, 2012 Tedx Talk Presenter Soil: From Dirt to Lifeline, Documentary Advisor, and Author of Cultivating an Ecological Conscience: Essays from a Farmer Philosopher. Kirschenmann’s 1,800 acre farm has been featured in National Geographic, Business Week, Audubon, the LA Times and Gourmet magazine and in an award-winning video, My Father’s Garden.
