NSAC has a New Coalition Director
June 10, 2019
After six months of reviewing scores of applications, conducting formal phone interviews with seven candidates from every region of the nation and in-person interviews with four final candidates, the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition’s Organizational Council announced last week that they unanimously voted to hire Sarah Hackney as NSAC’s new Coalition Director and that she has accepted. She will assume her new position in mid-July.
MFAI’s Policy Director, Margaret Krome, has served as NSAC’s half-time Interim Director since October, 2018, and worked closely with the Organizational Council’s hiring committee in the hiring process. “Sarah comes having previously served as Executive Director of a non-profit in the sustainable agriculture movement and is exactly the right person to lead NSAC into the next decade. She brings a comprehensive and sophisticated understanding of NSAC’s organizational history, coalition culture and process, attention to process and instinct for organizational strategy. She not only understands the crucial role of racial equity in the sustainable agriculture movement but brings a strong track record of advancing NSAC’s racial equity work and of POC hiring. I believe she will be exceptional in this role.”
