NOW OPEN for the season !!!

Stella Gardens, is a  beautiful 2-acre, organic and biodynamic, market garden that specializes in perennial fruits and annual vegetables that provides healthy, fresh food to the local community while training young farmers the fundamentals of sustainable agriculture.  Seasonal produce is available for sale in the white “Steer Shed”.

“We are so excited to finally harvest asparagus, rhubarb, and green garlic, the first perennials of the year.  And, we’re hoping in  the next week or so, if we have plenty of sunshine, to start harvesting greens such as spinach, lettuce, yukina savoy, and pac choi” expresses Shawn Murray, Stella Gardens Manager.  “We’re also hoping to have tomato and pepper transplants ready for sale by May 15 for those of you with protected places for these more tender crops. Wait to purchase your tomatoes at the end of the month if you think you might want to wait for warmer temperatures.”

While chard, cabbage, broccoli, kale, beets, radishes, peas, mustard greens, arugula, and cilantro are in the ground, it’ll be some time before these veggies will be ready.  So please check back on a regular basis to see what is available.

Stella Gardens/Michael Fields Agriculutural Insitute is located in East Troy, WI, on the southeast corner of Townline Road and Main Street (across from Piggly Wiggly and Martin’s Hardware).  You will see the Michael Fields Agricultural sign at the entrance off Townline Road.   Drive into the parking lot and look for the solar panels on the south end of the long white building called the “steer shed” and then the “Stella Gardens” sign.  To get directions from your location click here.

Thanks and hope to see you soon!
