Summer Art Exhibit Features Plein Air Paintings by Thomas Buchs

Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

An opening art reception will be held at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in the “Big Brown Barn” (W2493 County Road ES, East Troy WI 53120) featuring Artist, Thomas Buchs and his beautiful paintings.

The opening reception and exhibition are FREE and hosted by The Good Earth Church of the Divine in collaboration with Michael Fields Agricultural Institute. Refreshments will be served during the reception with the accompaniment of music by Vivaldi.

Thomas Buchs attended Layton School of Art and became an Illustrator, creating artwork advertising, and children’s books for many national local companies during the last 46 years. Recently Buchs has been doing Plein Air Painting (painting from life outdoors), trying to capture the light and atmosphere of a scene within a few hours. This type of painting is not just a two-dimensional illusion, but also that of a moment in life, captured on canvas. As a founding member of Wisconsin Plein Air Painters Association (WIPAPA), such paintings interpret the natural and man-made beauty and diversity of Wisconsin’s landscapes and culture. Come see for yourself!

The exhibition will be on display for the Summer season and open to the public.
