The Institute is delighted to introduce Alejandra Hernandez, who will begin July 1 as MFAI’s Conservation Policy Associate. Alejandra recently completed her Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, with a specialty in Ecosystems and Landscape Conservation and Management (ELCM). Previously, Alejandra worked for several years in Milwaukee on a project helping backyard gardeners understand strategies around soil contamination. “I am very much looking forward to joining the MFAI team and working on conservation policies and programming to serve the sustainable agriculture movement,” she said.
Alejandra will work on several of MFAI’s projects, including our work on cover crops, grass-based agriculture, soil health/soil wealth, farmland preservation, engagement with Uplands Watershed farmers, and other conservation initiatives. “We’re very excited to have Alejandra’s much-lauded talents brought to bear on our conservation and climate resilience work. She will be a great part of our team,” said Margaret Krome, MFAI’s Policy Director.
