You’re not alone

I think those might be the most comforting words in the English language. Whether it’s a sad feeling, or a major obstacle to overcome, knowing that you’re not crazy is sometimes what it takes to get you back up and on your feet. Knowing that others have been there and made it out means we too can do it.  That’s why finding a support group is so important.

Some find support within their family, or church, or community work. I’ve found mine within a small group of amazing, fellow women farmers.  We meet every few months at someone’s farm for a potluck and tour.  After eating we sit around, share successes, failures and dreams for the future.  It’s so wonderful to be able to share failures and not be judged, but to actually be appreciated since someone else has now learned from your mistake and hopefully saved themselves the heartache.

I don’t know where I’d be without these wonderful, strong, determined women. I pull from them inspiration and creativity each and every time we meet.  They say, “You can always tell who the strong women are.  They are the ones pulling each other up, not pushing them down.”  Thank God for Strong Women!
