Conservation Funding Available for WI Farmers

Conservation Program Funding Available NOW for WI Farmers

Farmers and ranchers across Wisconsin are taking on environmental issues including water quality, soil erosion, and flood resilience and, thanks to Congress’s 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) investment in climate-smart conservation program funding, they have more financial support than ever to do so.

A second round of funding for Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) producer contracts is now open, and agricultural producers, ranchers and forest landowners are encouraged to apply by May 17th.

EQIP and RCPP offer cost share for more than 120 basic conservation practices that increase the restoration and sustainable use of soil, water, wildlife and related natural resources. These programs offer producers financial and technical support to make make conservation work for them. Together Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) staff and farmers work to create solutions that conserve natural resources for the future while also improving agricultural operations.
