Happy Apple Tree Day!

Happy National Apple Tree Day! 🍎

We celebrate Apple Tree Day on January 6 to honor the great tradition of growing and cultivating apples across North America.

Pictured here, a flashback to last April when Assistant Policy Director, Noemy Serrano, kicked off the first official Milwaukee Urban Ag Network (MUAN) event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event, an apple grafting workshop, was led by MFAI’s Policy Director, Margaret Krome, with a special apple pruning segment led by Milwaukee resident and community fruit-tree-pruner Jan Carroll and was in collaboration with UW-Extension Milwaukee and Groundwork Milwaukee.

A huge thank you to Samson Srok, Greenspace Actions Coordinator at Groundwork Milwaukee, for graciously hosting us in their space.

The Milwaukee Urban Ag Network (MUAN) hosts fun, educational events and amplifies the work already being done by so many amazing organizations in Milwaukee. Learn more at www.michaelfields.org/federal-state-policy
